बंगाल में ब्रह्मणों की कुल जनसंख्या २२.४५लाख है, जो राज्य की जनसंख्या का महज २.८ प्रतिशत है। पर विधानसभा में ६४ ब्राह्मण हैं । राज्य में सोलह केबिनेट मंत्री ब्राह्मण हैं। दो राज्य मंत्री भी ब्राह्मण हैं। राज्य में सवर्ण कायस्थ और वैद्य की जनसंख्या ३०.४६ लाख है, जो कुल जनसंख्या का महज ३.४ प्रतिशत हैं। इनके ६१ विधायक हैं। इनके केबिनेट मंत्री सात और राज्य मंत्री दो हैं। अनुसूचित जातियों की जनसंख्या १८९ लाख है, जो कुल जनसंख्या का २३.६ प्रतिशत है। इन्हें राजनीतिक आरक्षण हासिल है। इनके विधायक ५८ है। २.८ प्रतिशत ब्राह्मणों के ६४ विधायक और २३.६ फीसद सअनुसूचितों के ५८ विधायक। अनुसूचितो को आरक्षण के बावजूद सिर्फ चार केबिनेट मंत्री और दो राज्य मंत्री, कुल जमा छह मंत्री अनुसूचित। इसी तरह आरक्षित ४४.९० लाख अनुसूचित जनजातियों की जनसंख्या , कुल जनसंख्या का ५.६ प्रतिशत, के कुल सत्रह विधायक और दो राज्य मंत्री हैं। राज्य में १८९.२० लाख मुसलमान हैं। जो जनसंख्या का १५.५६ प्रतिशत है। इनकी माली हालत सच्चर कमिटी की रपट से उजागर हो गयी है। वाममोर्चा को तीस साल तक लगातार सत्ता में बनाये रखते हुए मुसलमानों की औकात एक मुश्त वोटबैंक में सिमट गयी है। मुसलमाल इस राज्य में सबसे पिछड़े हैं। इनके कुल चालीस विधायक हैं , तीन केबिनेट मंत्री और दो राज्य मंत्री। मंडल कमीशन की रपट लागू करने के पक्ष में सबसे ज्यादा मुखर वामपंथियों के राज्य में ओबीसी की हालत सबसे खस्ता है। राज्य में अन्य पिछड़ी जातियों की जनसंख्या ३२८.७३ लाख है, जो कुल जनसंख्या का ४१ प्रतिशत है। पर इनके महज ५४ विधायक और एक केबिनेट मंत्री हैं। ४१ प्रतिशत जनसंखाया का प्रतिनिधित्व सिर्फ एक मंत्री करता है। वाह, क्या क्रांति है। और पढ़ें...
