I visited Darjeeling a few years back in September, 2002. Long back from recent crisis in West Bengal Hills. I tried to meet Subhash Ghising but failed. No one could help me because no one had any contact with Ghising. He was quite an isolated personality castled in Darjeeling Gurkha Hill Autonomous Council.I talked to journalists based in Darjeeling and met all the Press Club people there. Without any result. Ghising have been an autocrat since the first day in Power. This is the trend and predestined result of popular movements in this divided , bleeding geopolitics all over. It has happened to Bangla Nationality in Bangladesh. A corrupt political leadership has led the country to Islamic Nationality Anarchy. It happened to the Non Congress Experiment after the historical defeat of Legendary Mrs Indira Gandhi back in 1977. Total Revolution resulted in Total Corruption. It is repeated once again with leaders like Lalu Yadav, Karunanidhi, Chandra Babu Naidu, Jailalita, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Kumarswami, Naveen Patnaik,Shibu Soren, Mayawati and others taking over with different colorful ideologies and Banners. Even Sangh Parivar and great NDA experiment could not escape. In Left ruled states , Regimented ruling Hegemony is so strong because it is fed by Corruption on Grass Root Level. All political Icons are perhaps predestined to be isolated Autocrats! The Marxist Regimented Hegemony in West Bengal has been always defending Ghising ignoring ground realities in the Hills. Siliguri Don Ashok Bhattachary had the last word in affairs relating Hills. Dinahata firing and Death Processions in tea gardens, resurgence of Congress in North Bengal nothing could alert the Left Front Leadership. Hill people could not find any solution for their Identity crisis. Life and Livelihood, day to day problems made the situation worse. Starvation, Displacement, Women Trafficking, Death Procession continued with Ghishing in Power without any Election. It had to explode and finally it exploded. But the Left Front, even after this explosion tends to defend the autocrat Subhash Ghising as he finds shelter in Writers Building Kolkata.
The Nation is unaware of Partition History and the Villainous role of our so called National leaders, specially the Bengali Caste Hindu leaders! I dare to warn that De facto Prime Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Gestapo Head Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Sahitya Akedemy President Sunil Gangopadhyay and PCC President Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi are trying their best to create a Bangadesh! Soviet Union underestimated perestroika and Glasnost. What happened , we all know. This Ruling Brahminical Hegemony and its opposition led by Ms Mamta Bannerjee, and pro Globalisation Brahmincal Civil society led by Dr Amartya Sen, Mrinal sen, Saumitra Chatterjee, Aparna sen, Gautam Ghosh, Mahasweta Devi and so on, never cares for the Dali Bengali Refugees, Five Crore of them scattered countrywide as partition victims, deprived of citizenship, reservation, mother tongue, civil and human rights. This ruling Hegemony consists of one hundred or maximum Two hundred Kolkata Based Brahmin and Caste Hindu families. Thus, it doesn't care for rest of Bengali population even in West Bengal. It has intense apathy against the persecuted East Bengal Dalit Bengalies crossing the border continuously. It has sieged the SC ST OBC leaders to enslave the Majority people. It has managed Infinite Enblock support of Muslim Vote Bank to hold the power for the Ruling Hegemony. it has got control over Media, Money, Mafia and all spheres of life including education, health, culture, language ,etc.
Priya Ranjan Dashmunshi already have demanded to rename West Bengal as Banga Bhoomi or Bangadesh. Pranab Mukherjee has launched a nationwide deportation Drive against Dalit Partition Victim Bengali Refugees. Buddhadeb has initiated a scientific process of Regress and Depopulation with SEZ, PCPIR, FDI, Retail capitalist Development Campaign. Sunil Gango is helped to install himself as President of sahitya Akedemy for resurgence of Liberatin Bangla Brahminical Nationality. The Marxists of Bengal have all foreign links now as they never had thanks to Globalisation. Please read the actual content of Buddha Bush alliance!
Everyone reacted vehemently against Amachi Mumbai Movement. But Marxist agression against SC, ST, OBC and Muslims in Marichjhanpi to Nandigram happens to be a quite Legacy. Non Bengalies have to merge their identity in Bengali supremacy. The Hindi Speaking population plus intelligentsia do the same. Only the Marwaries resist and they are paid back well. Bengali agression has been overlooked but Dalit and Muslim Bengalies are subject to persecution all over the country. What a Game!
Marxists of West Bengal did try to finish Communist Movement in North India. No leadership is allowed for Hindi speaking masses in communist parties. All communist parties including the Naxals always elect Brahmin or Ex Zamindar General secretary in India. Stalin tried his best to solve the Nationality problems in Russia. Thus, Soviet Union was created and it prevailed. Since the demise of Soviet Union, no soviet leader addressed the Nationality Problem anymore. And CIA could disintegrate USSR. Indian Democracy never addressed nationality problem. AFSPA and military operations have been the solutions of Nationality problems in North east, Kashmir and Tamilnadu. At best, they allowed creation of three smaller states Jharkhand , Chhattish Gargh and Uttarakhand to satisfy the aspirations of nationality identities in Indian Mainland. On the other hand, ruling Hindi nationality, Bengali Brahmnical Marxist Nationality, Malayalam Brhaminical marxist Nationality, Kashmiri and Punjabi Hindu nationalities became the components of not only national, but also Post Modern Galaxy Brahminical, Zionist, White Manusmriti Ruling Hegemony!
Thus, no wonder, the Marxists never initiated any process to solve Tamil, Manipuri, Naga, Mizo, Ahmia, Bhutani, kashmiri, Maratha, Kannad, Manipuri, Gujrati and other nationality problems in India. In Darjiling, simply the stroke a deal with Subhash Ghising and held Gorkha Nationality enslaved to ruling Bengali Brahminical Marxist Nationality! I am afraid, despite the divide in GNLF, and rise of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, the Left Front Brahmin Marxists have enough expertise to strike fresh deals once again!

Kolkata: The outsider versus local debate seems to be raging across more states than just Maharashtra. The Rajasthan government has hit back at the controversial comments made by a West Bengal minister against the Marwari community.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje says West Bengal Land Reforms Minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah's comments on the Marwari community are unfortunate. At a function on Wednesday, Mollah had said Marwaris are bribing their way to success in business in West Bengal and ruining the state.
"I was listening to writer Buddhadev Guha's comment that Bengalis are lazy. But these non-Bengalis, especially Meros (Marwaris)... they are capturing Bengal not on the basis of their talent or intelligence. They are management masters. If they have a scheme, they remain prepared to manage 10 per cent of that scheme. They slip in that 10 per cent to wherever necessary and get the job done. Bengalis are still not habituated in this," Mollah had said.
The ruling Left Front promptly distanced itself from the minister's anti-Marwari outburst.
However, the community is up in arms. They burned an effigy of the minister at MG Road in Kolkata on Friday.

KOLKATA: West Bengal land and land revenue minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah has kicked off a controversy at a meeting of the Left-backed outfit by making derogatory remarks against Marwaris.
A private TV channel has telecast his comments that Marwaris are developers and get their work done by bribing their way through.
On Thursday, Mollah, however, denied bringing any direct aspersions on the Marwaris.
"I was sharing the dais with writer Buddhadeb Guha who said Bengalis a lazy community that doesn't know how run a business and they should learnt it from the Marwaris. I took exception to his view and said Bengalis are mostly servicemen while Marwaris are businessmen. They run the business, keep budget to manage the business," he said.

Almost taking a leaf out of Raj Thackeray's book, a CPI-M minister in West Bengal has spoken out against the Marwari community calling them ''manage masters'' who are bribing their way to success in business and ruining the state.
He has also urged Bengalis to compete with Marwaris but not adopt their underhand ways. The Marwari community in Kolkata is shocked and wants the minister to apologise.
Abdul Rezzak Mollah, a CPI-M MLA minister in West Bengal, has publicly called Marwaris by a derogatory diminutive and said they were bribing their way to success and ruining Bengal.
''The non-Bengalis particularly the Meros are capturing Bengal not because of their brains but because they are 'manage masters'. Whenever they have a project they keep aside ten per cent to manage things,'' said Abdul Rezzak Mollah, Minister, Land and Land Reforms, West Bengal.
Speaking at a function on Thursday to celebrate the Bengali language, Mollah said: ''Bengalis are still not used to it. They are taking and giving bribes, but in a small way. They have not developed the habit of giving a ten per cent I hope the habit is never developed. Let them compete but not resort to bribing. The manage masters are ruining us.''
The Marwari community, which has been in Kolkata for over a century, feels such statements could hurt the city's social fabric.
''The minister's statement is clearly influenced by Raj Thackeray. But I am confident what happened in Maharashtra will not happen in Kolkata,'' said Prakash Chandalia, Editor, Mahanagar.
''It is very unfortunate. The minister must beg apology because, what he has said doesn't not represent the culture of Bengal,'' said Bishambhar Newar, Editor, All India Marwari Federation.
No reaction from the CPI-M so far to this Raj Thackeray like statement. But it is an embarrassment that Buddhadeb Bhattacharya could well have done without.
Ghising knocks at CM's door

KOLKATA: Hounded out of the Hills, Subash Ghising reached Kolkata on Friday to knock on Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's door for support. The Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council administrator will meet the chief minister on Saturday, officials said.
Ghising rushed to Kolkata after activists of the pro-Gorkhaland Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) confined him to Pintail Village, a resort three km from Siliguri, for five days since Monday.
He got stuck there while he was on his way to Darjeeling after holding talks with the Centre on the Sixth Schedule proposal. The GJM has banned his entry into the Hills as long as he does not quit the council and drop the demand for inclusion of Darjeeling in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
It claims that the Sixth Schedule status will divide the Nepali-speaking people and block Darjeeling's way to statehood. Considering the rising tension in the Hills and the terai, the state government chose to keep its cards close to the chest.
"I am not aware why Ghising is in town. He has not had any interaction with the government," state home secretary Prasad Ranjan Roy said. Asked if the government would ask Ghising to quit the council, he added, "It's a political matter."
But Marxist patriarch Jyoti Basu, who made Ghising give up the Gorkhaland demand 20 years ago, was more forthcoming.
"Ghising is in trouble. His own people have gone against him. The CM is trying to get the Sixth Schedule Bill passed by Parliament," he said.
In Darjeeling, Ghising's sudden departure from the Pintail village sparked rumours about his quitting the council. "Ghising slipped out of the Pintail village with police escorts. We won't let him come back until he leaves the council and the Sixth Schedule," GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said.
All through the day, the news out of Darjeeling sounded grim. And Ghising preferred to convey this to the world with his silence. "Let's talk about it later," Ghising said at Kolkata airport when reporters asked him when he was going back to Darjeeling. He then quickly made his way into a car waiting at the VIP gate of the airport.
Later, talking to TOI over the phone, he gave hints about his meeting with the CM. "Oh, that's a different subject," he said of the Sixth Schedule proposal that has turned the entire Hills against him. During the short conversation, he declined to say when he was getting back to Darjeeling.
Parliament is likely to amend the Constitution to put Darjeeling in the Sixth Schedule during the upcoming Budget session. This comes as a follow-up to a tripartite agreement between the Centre, the state government and Ghising on December 6, 2005.
Ghising has lost confidence of his party: Jyoti Basu
Kolkata (PTI): The days of Subhas Ghising as the caretaker administrator of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council could be numbered with CPI(M) patriarch Jyoti Basu saying that the GNLF chief has lost the confidence of his own party.
Commenting on the agitation in Darjeeling hills, Basu said Ghising, whose immediate sacking has been demanded by rival Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM), had become "weak with his own partymen going against him".
The veteran Marxist leader said Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was closely monitoring the situation and was in touch with Delhi so that the Sixth Schedule Bill was passed in Parliament.
"I hope it will be passed," he said.
The West Bengal government, after dithering, has now stated that Ghising's term would not be extended after it expires on March 24.
The GJM, which is enforcing an economic blockade in the DGHC-administered Darjeeling hills since February 17 and an indefinite bandh from February 20, has demanded a halt to the process for conferring Sixth Schedule status and a separate state of Gorkhaland, besides removal of Ghising.
Bandh supporters denied entry to Siliguri

KOLKATA: Life in West Bengal’s Darjeeling Hills was severely affected for the second successive day on Thursday in view of the indefinite bandh called by the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM). The GJM is demanding “immediate” removal of Subhas Ghising from the post of administrator of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC). It is also advocating creation of a State of Gorkhaland comprising the hills and certain areas contiguous to it.
The stalemate arising from the bandh call took a new turn when GJM supporters tried to stage demonstrations, including a hunger strike, in Siliguri — the gateway to the hills. Local police stopped them and additional forces were rushed to the town.
By trying to force their way into Siliguri, the bandh supporters were attempting to “create a rift between the people of the hills and the plains,” the State government said . “Under no circumstances will they be allowed to demonstrate in Siliguri which is not within the purview of the DGHC and where some people from outside are trying to foment trouble,” Ashok Bhattacharya, the State’s Minister for Municipal Affairs, said here.
“We cannot permit them to enter the town and allow matters to become a Nepali-Bengali issue,” State’s Home Secretary P.R. Ray added.
Reiterates demand
The GJM leadership reiterated that the bandh would continue till Subhas Ghising is removed his post and the move to grant Sixth Schedule status to the region scrapped.
On being prevented entry to Siliguri, hundreds of GJM supporters demonstrated in the suburbs of the town, outside the place where Mr. Ghising has been put up since Monday. He had been advised against proceeding to Darjeeling in view of blocks set up by activists on all roads to the hill-town.
CPM slammed for ‘pampering’ Ghisingh
Romit Bagchi

SILIGURI, Feb. 22: The Left Front allies in Darjeeling district today came down heavily on the CPI-M for “pampering” Mr Subash Ghisingh, which according to them, has led to the present political crisis in the Darjeeling Hills. The Congress steered clear of the controversy and the CPI-M, as expected, defended the state government's role so far.
The RSP Darjeeling district secretary Mr Benoy Chakrabarty castigated the state government today for having “flirted” with the GNLF chief for a considerable period. “The pampering game played by the state government in defiance to the Left Front policy of strengthening democratic institutions, has landed the hills in a political mess. It is difficult to understand why the government allowed a long rope to Ghising by allowing him to remain the caretaker administrator of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council. There is a possibility that Ghising could be further propped with the inclusion of the DGHC in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution,” the RSP leader warned.
The Darjeeling district Forward Bloc secretary Mr Smritish Bhattacharya hurled the same missile at the senior partner. According to him, the state government's continued support to the GNLF chief defied logic culminating in a political mess. “For years the caretaker administrator went unaccountable. Despite Ghisingh's failure to account for the huge funds given to the Council by the Centre and the state government, both governments ignored it. The price had to be paid one day,” he commented.
The Darjeeling district CPI also slammed the state government on the same issue, albeit in a milder tone. The Darjeeling CPI secretary, Mr Ujjal Chowdhury, said: “The decision to allow Ghising to function as the DGHC caretaker administrator for long was unwise. But the state government probably had no alternative.”
The Congress, however, refrained from criticising the state government on the issue. The Darjeeling district Congress president Mr Shankar Malakar said that restoration of peace in the hills was the need of the hour. “It is no time for carping the state government's stance on the GNLF chief. Working together to restore normalcy in the troubled hills is the need of the hour,” he observed.
The Darjeeling district CPI-M, understandably, came out in stout defence of the state government. Mr Jibesh Sarkar, the party's state committee member form Siliguri said that there were certain compulsions for the state government to maintain peace and amity in the politically volatile region. “It was not pampering, but doing the obvious at a tricky juncture,” he added.
Ghisingh flies off to Calcutta
- Morcha revels in ‘retreat’

Feb. 22: Subash Ghisingh today left Pintail Village for Calcutta, leaving behind a crowd of rejoicing Gorkha Janmukti Morcha supporters who claimed that the GNLF chief had retreated under pressure.
There was, however, no definite statement on the “retreat” from Ghisingh’s side.
Urban development minister Asok Bhattacharya said Ghisingh’s decision to leave for Calcutta and stay at Gorkha Bhawan was entirely his own. “The government has nothing to do with it,” the minister said.
The GNLF chief landed at Calcutta airport around 3 this afternoon and was driven straight to Gorkha Bhawan. He refused to speak to reporters, but one of his spokespersons later said a news conference would be held tomorrow.
Home secretary Prasad Ranjan Ray said he was not aware if Ghisingh would meet Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. The chief minister, before leaving for a public meeting in North 24 Parganas, said he had discussed the situation in Darjeeling with the chief and home secretaries and director general of police A.B.Vohra.
Since Monday, the GNLF chief had been holed up in Pintail Village, 3km from Siliguri, after Morcha supporters set up road blockades, to stop Ghisingh from going back to the Darjeeling hills.
The party has been demanding his removal as caretaker administrator of the DGHC and has called an indefinite bandh in the hills in protest.
Around 11.30am, Rajesh Yadav, the additional superintendent of police, Siliguri, and other senior officials drove into Pintail. At 12.20, a white Ambassador with beacons flashing and escort cars rolled out, heading for Bagdogra airport.
Morcha supporters on fast outside Pintail were at first surprised. They shouted anti-Ghisingh slogans and waved black flags when the GNLF chief crossed the dais.
“He is frightened to see the resentment of the common people and the huge support base of our party. That is why he retreated,” an excited Bimal Dorjee, a central committee member of the Morcha, said. “We did not block his convoy because he is free to go anywhere but the hills.”
Jyoti Basu, who was the chief minister during the Gorkhaland agitation in the late eighties, today said: “Ghisingh is in trouble because his own supporters have gone against him.’’ The CPM patriarch was referring to Morcha president Bimal Gurung, who was once a close aide of Ghisingh.
Basu hoped that the problems would be resolved amicably after the Sixth Schedule bill is passed in Parliament.
Bandh to be lifted for 4 hours
OUR CORRESPONDENT
Darjeeling, Feb. 22: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha has decided to relax its indefinite shutdown in the hills for four hours tomorrow, giving residents a 10am-2pm window to stock up on food, finish pending work at banks and post offices, and travel to any place they want to.
“Everything will remain open for four hours tomorrow. Vehicles, too, will be allowed to move across the three hill subdivisions between 10am and 2pm. Although we have been forced to call this bandh, we do not want to harass people,” said Morcha president Bimal Gurung.
The Morcha has enforced the shutdown to demand the removal of GNLF chief Subash Ghisingh from the post of the caretaker administrator of the DGHC and the immediate scrapping of the proposed Sixth Schedule status for the Darjeeling hills.
“We are happy that markets and shops will open after three days tomorrow,” said a resident here. “But I don’t think banks and post offices will function normally even for these four hours, because they will not be able to make arrangements at such short notice.”
The Morcha had earlier announced that post offices and nationalised banks would be allowed to open only on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The residents are also hoping to make the most of the four-hour respite to travel to Siliguri and other places. While police have been escorting tourist vehicles to Siliguri, residents have had no such luck, even those with urgent work in the plains.
“We can provide security to residents but they have to bring their own vehicles. It is getting increasingly difficult to find vehicles as we cannot force drivers to take a risk in the current situation,” said a police official.
This morning, quite a few people were seen at the Morcha office here who had come to meet Gurung to seek his “written permission” allowing them to take vehicles to go down to Siliguri.
“My daughter is stranded in Siliguri and that is why I went to the Morcha office to ask for a permission letter. Since the strike is being relaxed for four hours tomorrow, I will now be able to bring her home,” said a businessman who did not want to be named.
In fact, Morcha leaders had been in discussion since early morning about the need to allow petrol pumps to remain open for all emergency vehicles, including cars that ferry students and tankers that supply milk and water to the town.
