Poet Jaidev happens to be the original Baul. He was the man who transformed the Divine and Princely Love into Love between human beings. Krishna and Radha were commoners. The poetry of Jaidev, particularly Geet Govindam was then the first spring for the Common Men and the Individual in Asia. It happened long before English and french Renaissance. West could not break the impact of Greek, Latin and roman Classical Aesthetic values , but an Indian Classic Poet, the last in the line of Sanskrit classical Literature, Jaidev broke the brahminical, feudal so called classic barriers of Content and Form.
